Please help!!
I just bought 17x7.5 wheels. I do not have the sport suspension and I hate the fender/tire gap. I was wondering how much of this gap I could close by buying a taller tire since I went to a larger wheel. I do not know much about tires and was wondering if someone could give me a suggestion as to what size tire to buy for these rims to help close this gap and make the car look a little sportier. It is a 98.5 quattro 2.8. Thank You! J.C.G.

How much does it cost just to lower the car? What parts are needed?...
I am happy with the current ride so I don't need to get a sportier suspension. I just want to close the fender gap somewhat. What parts and how much would it cost just to lower the car. Thank You! J.C.

well ...
i changed to the intrax/koni setup (came up to near $1k, including installation). I have a 96 A4 and it didn't have the sport suspension in the first place. handling was very smooth, but very "boat-like" ... then i put 18x8.5 rims and 225/40 tires, and still had over a hand of clearance. with my new suspension, i'm at 3 fingers up front, and about 1 1/2 finger height rear. it makes a world of difference, i'll tell you that.
the stock suspension is very soft and so you'll be rubbing a lot more if you get bigger tires/rims. it looks good even without the suspension upgrade, but handling is another story...
