i ordered the VALVE (dont really give a **** what u want to call it) from turbo xs. mike at turbo xs told me that audi mounts the VALVE backwards, but it works both ways. the spring side is usualy towards the pressure side. anyone know the truth without a debate of what u want to call it.

Dude, first of all......chill out..........
...sorry if you took it the wrong way, I was trying to help you out by telling you what the correct name is for the valve you need. As I said, a pop-off valve and a blow-off valve are different things. I didn't want to see you purchase the wrong part.
As to your question about some of the Audi bypass valve's being mounted backwards, yes that is true.

sorry, bough my audi used from a dealer. its a 98 1.8t q man. loaded. two weeks later it looses its timming belt and smokes all the exaust valves. now i have this horrible sound when its cold from 3200-3500 rpm. there are no real audi dealers ( other than the one i bought my car from) around. i was told that the audi valve is junk and thats more than likely my problem. after this whole dellema? the noise is still there, with the valve both ways. i have the money to get the apr stage two now but i dont want to dump 14 pounds with serious issues.thanks for your help
