possible control arm problem
I have a 96 A4QM that I purchased about 6 months ago. When I bought it, they replaced the front control arms on both sides. I have driven 10,000km since and now I notice a squeeking noise coming from what sounds like the back of the car when I push down on the trunk. It sounds exactly like the bed springs on a cheesy cot when you are layin' pipe!
Question...are there rear control arms and if so, does this sound like they could be the problem?? Has anyone else had this problem????
I am assuming that the problem is in the rear of the car as the front control arms are only 10,000km old and if they are shot again, Audi is gonna get my A4 up their ***!
Many thanks,
konyo
I doubt that they changed all 8 up front. They probably did one(lower)on each side. So that still leaves you with 10 to go bad! Even new ones have been known to fail after only 3K miles!
At $440 each for arm and labor...this could equate to a $5K bill down the road for people keeping the A4 long term or buying a used one!
