Default post alignment issues...

My car was pulling very slightly to the right (I mean VERY slightly). I took it in today to a very reputable shop (Custom Alignment in Mt. View) and had them align it. I picked it up and the said that it was the tire that is causing it to pull. They switched my 2 front tires for a moment and the car pulled the other way. The tires are brand new S-03's with about 1000 miles max on them. After picking the car up, it pulls REALLY hard to the right now. It's much worse than it was before the alignment. Did they do something wrong or is it correct now so I feel it more? I have all of the before and after numbers and adjustments they made if that helps at all. Should I take it back to them or believe them that there's nothing they can do?

thanks for any help... josh

Default Well have you switched from stockers to these...you will tramline more...

the tires will follow the road grooves much harder now...if you are braking you can really fight the wheel on a rough road...you will notice this with your new wheel/tires more than stockers.

That said, did you make sure to use hubcentric rings, if your wheels came with them? Check the lugnuts make sure they are all tightened appropriately...make sure all 5 have roughly equal pressure applied to them.

Beyond that, im not sure, wish i could give more advice.

Cheers,

Default well...

I went from 17" wheels to 18" currently. I understand what you mean about following the grooves of the road, and it's not that. They do have hub-centric rings. I double checked all lugs (torqued to 82ft/lbs). I checked all tire pressures (38psi all around).

What are the chances that 1 tire is actually bad? What does it even mean if a tire is "bad"?

Default What's your caster after? They may have move the subframe to balance the camber, but reduced caster

on your right side. I'm assuming also that all your pressures are ok.

Did you corner balance the car also? For the least part, make sure your fender height matches left to right. Lower on the right side will make it pull to that side.

Check your brakes also to make sure none are binding.

tire pressure is 38psi all around. Lugs are all torqued to 82ft/lbs. If one of my coilovers were set lower or higher than the other, could that cause this problem? Anyway, here's the caster numbers:

Left Front:
Before - +4.50
After - +4.50

Right Front:
Before - +4.70
After - +4.90

Default Caster looks too off between the two. Take it back.

How much lower is your coil over side to side? Was it set by scales or looks? If looks, just tweak it so they are about 1/8" or less from each other.

Default Is this the first time your car went to the right? Mine been doing that since I bought it, also a

2001. Probably different issue, but I rotated the tires front to rear, and still get very hard pull to right, very hard. Even had the car aligned 4 times to no avail. Dealer says tire issues, what two tires? We rotated and same issue. Took to tire place, they tires OK. Still have not fixed my right pulling.
