Power steering problem
Has anyone had a failure of their power steering system requiring replacement of the pump and ps rack. I have a 98 2.8AQ, and although it is covered under warranty, it concerns me that this major system has failed after only 17K. Thaks.

Not yet (6800 miles) and not in 132,000 on my old Coupe Quattro
I think some folks have had failures due to fluid leaks that eventually damaged the pump or rack. Besides that, from my previous experience, you have to be very particular about the PS fluid; believe Audi uses a magic elixir called "Pentosin 11S", and that is the only fluid that should be used for PS addition. This was true on the old Coupe due to hydraulic brake assist, don't know if this is the case ont he A4.<br>
