Power window problem... intermittent non-functionality...

Power window problem... intermittent non-functionality...
Okay, strangeness going on. This has started happening for the last few days.
Occasionally (but not often) the windows and sunroof in my car stop working. The buttons on all of the doors no longer work, nor does the sunroof dial work. So far this only occurs while I'm driving. I get in the car and start it up and roll the windows down. I drive along and try adjust a window and it won't work. I've stopped the car and restarted it to no effect.
But get this: the keychain remote can still operate the windows. Haven't tried sticking the key in the doorlock and operating them from there, but I would guess that would work too.
Oh, and after I turn the car off for a few minutes they seem to start working again.
Any ideas?
