Default that's built in.. if you floor it... it automatically downshifts for you..

but then your revs get to high.. so it shifts to fifth... but you still have your foot to the floor so it goes to fourth... but then your revs get to high.. so it shifts to fifth... but you still have your foot to the floor so it goes to fourth... but then your revs get to high.. so it shifts to fifth... but you still have your foot to the floor so it goes to fourth... but then your revs get to high.. so it shifts to fifth... but you still have your foot to the floor so it goes to fourth... but then your revs get to high.. so it shifts to fifth... but you still have your foot to the floor so it goes to fourth...

don't punch it... slowly apply throttle and work through the gears... it's at WOT that the comp will downshift

Default No worries, its supposed to do that...

the feature (called kick-down) is so that you can summon higher revs to achieve the better acceleration the tranny assumes you are trying to achieve by flooring it. Its essentially there for passing situations. The transmission then realizes it cannot stay in this high-rev situation for very long without damaging (in Audi's mind) consequences, so it shifts back up.

FYI, you should try to avoid doing this very often (especially when traveling above 100 miles per hour), as it will wear your transmission and motor drastically.

Default why are you going 110 or 115 in the first place?

if you arent on the track stop putting other peoples' lives in danger

</>rant

on a helpful topic, Ill say the same as the other guys. The tip is supposed to down shift to help you with pick up.

Default If you have a nDBW car, there is a mechanical switch under your gas pedal. It activates the

kick-down feature for the Tiptronic. This switch resides PAST full throttle (yes, I have verified this). If you press the throttle down slowly you will be able to feel the switch's resistance. With practice, you can easily avoid pressing the switch while still getting WOT.

BTW: Yeah, don't go that fast on the streets. NOT COOL!
