Default Problems with accelerating. Help!

Got in my car this morning and got on the highway and everything was fine. I got off the highway, stopped at a light, then went to accelerate and the car loses power mid rev band. It starts accelerating but then nose dives for a moment then pics up power again. This kept happening though all gears. Anyone have any thoughts?

Check engine is on but the code is for "short to ground of the cam position sensor"

LOL, I remember the exact thing happening to me.<br>1-If you have an aftermarket cold air intake, check the connection to the thottle body as sometimes if the filer is not supported properly it will pull the intake hose away from the throtle body and cause your car to choke.<br>2-If it's not the intake, most likely the cam shaft position sensor.<br> I had both go bad at me at once, one thing I remember though is that when I turned off my car I had trouble getting it started even after the air intake tube was properyl connected. Thats when I performed vagcom and got the sensor error. It might also be something simple though like one of you vacuum lines or water/humidity in the purge valve. Start with the intake and then with the sensor.

When I replaced the sensor I just did vag com and erased the error code. It has been perfect so far. If your issue is gone I would just erase the code. Also after about 100 miles of driving it should clear up, but I've always erased the code after I have solved the issue.
