Problems with this forum's design
One thing got my attention almost immediately...I posted a question on the A4 forum; looked for replies the next day and had to search through several pages before I found my post. It would seem that the likelihood of a casual lister noticing a post and replying to it is rather slim. I belong to a Porsche and a Mercedes forum and they implement their sites a little differently to AudiWorld:
1. The thread list only shows the initial thread heading, you don't see responses unless you select that thread.
2. The list is in chronological order, but whenever someone posts a response, that thread moves back to the top of the list. So...an active thread will always be at or near the top of the list and maintains good visibility.
A quick glance at the first page or two of their sites gives you a good idea of what's currently being discussed.
As a newcomer to the list, I certainly don't want to start off by criticising it, but how about it Mr Administrator, any comments?

second, right next to your user name when you go to type in a post, click on preferences and if you only want to see the subject line, select 'collapsed thread' and that is all you will see.
me personally, love the set up of this forum. i dislike only reading the subject line of other forums. there is so much more going on inside the threads that you sometimes dont get to see if you dont find the subject interesting. here, if someone says something in the middle of the thread, you can see their one post and reply right to it w/out going into the thread, scrolling all the way down through all the posts.
One reason I don't like forums that only post the first message subject is that it's often the ensuing discussion that gets me interested in the thread.
