Default Problems, Problems, Problems.

I made a post earlier about the arrival of my new 01 1.8t that came on Friday. It arrived with a hand full of problems, and now as time goes on more problems are arising.

1.
I was at the local self serve car wash giving my baby it's first car wash when behold I realize that the front undercarriage cover fell off. It was held together from the undercarriage to the floor of the car wash by some tricky screws but with some help I managed to remove it. How much is this piece from Audi, does anyone know?

2. Ashtray is stuck - it won't come out

3. Drivers side mirror falls off when I shut the door relatively hard while exiting or entering.

4. Climacontrol unit is difficult - sometimes it's stuck on a temperature, air setting, and direction flow and unresponsive. Other times all buttons are useable and responsive.

5. Inside drivers door handle is loose- feels like it's going to snap off.

I'm taking the car in to Audi to get some parts ordered and the car looked at tomorrow
Guys, how much am I looking at?

How much did you spend on this car? Did you give it a once over before purchasing?

Imported it from a different province. Paid pretty cheap too, I could potentially sell the car in the Alberta market and make a profit on it.
But I don't want to - it's just too pretty!

Default The ashtray could be glued or taped.

Mine wouldn't shut so I had to Glue the little gears.Try pulling out the entire assembly so you can see what is going on back there.

Should mention the ashtray was functional the day before but now is not. Won't budge for sure.

Default Before you go to the dealer, search local junkyards+.....

..Your problems aren't that bad.
Your ashtray is stuck? More than likely coins got behind it. Read the FAQ. There is write-up for it (easy DIY).
As for the undercarriage cover (belly pan), get a new one W8 one. I think it runs $60-100. Check ECStuning, clairparts etc.
Mirror glass get on the junkyard for super cheap or go online (no more than $60 if it's not auto dim.)
For Klimatronik hunt on EBAY. Got mine for $30.
As for door handle, take it apart and see what's wrong with it. The only tool you need for it is screwdriver. Check tech articles here about how to take the door panel apart. Don't know how much that will run you, but please, this stuff is easy, so skip trip to the dealer unless you like to spend extra money.
Where are you anyway? Maybe I can help. If not I'd also post if anybody here is parting out their cars. It's a good way to get parts for cheap.

Thanks for the help man.
I'm up in Edmonton, Alberta.

It's not the ease of the repairs that gets me, I just can't take the time to do these things myself - very busy lately. But I guess I'm gonna have to make some time, I don't want to see my a4 in this shape

just pull on it hard to get the assembly out so you can see what is causing the obstruction.

Default No problem

It is frustrating when few things break at once. Don't let it take advantage of you. Fix it, keep car maintained and you'll enjoy it for years.
