Problems with Radio Code

I STFA but didn't find any examples of this problem.

Last week I had do temporarily disconnect my battery. Once it was reconnected, my stereo was in 'safe' mode, as expected, so I got my radio code, entered it and...doesn't work. I've tried 5 times now, including doing the 1-hr unlocking procedure twice, with no results.

And no, I didn't write the code down wrong or anything; I'm going off the original card.

Is there anything else I can try, or am I going to the dealer?

Pull the radio out of the dash. There will be a serial number on it.

call the dealer, or post here(someone may have access) with this. Dealerships can look up the radio safe code from the serial number, for a price of course.

are you following the directions correctly? there's a step after entering the code.

IIRC, you have hold the Pscan and RBDS buttons until SAFE appears and then release.

As far as I can tell

I push those two buttons, until SAFE appears, then release. Instead of going to radio, the SAFE flashes like I've entered the wrong code.

Doh! I totally forgot - 6 1/2 years ago my radio was replaced under warranty

CD player stopped working when it was a few months old. Thanks for triggering my bad memory.

Called dealer and got the new code. I feel like a bit of a dumbass, but at least I have tunes again.
