Programming Lock and Key at Dealer

I just got back from the dealer to get a replacement molding for my door for my New A4. I was going to get them to program the Autolock function for the car to lock at 15mph and also have them program the keys to roll up/down the windows. When I told the dealer guy that he had no idea what I was talking about. Then he called his tech guy and the tech was not sure about this also but said thay he could do it for 45 dollars. I said screw you! Is there anything I can do to get them to do it? Should I complain to AoA about this. Is there anybody in the Fairfeld,CT/Westchester,NY area that might have a VAG tool that might wanna help me out here. Should I try to go to another dealer to have them do this?

AoA has asked dealers not to reprogram the remotes.

Legal issues according to my dealer.

Check out the new VAG-COM registry and maybe find someone near you who can do it

Some dealers are cool with it, others are a PITA and want to charge you.....

....I paid like $30 for this a few years back. This was prior to the TSB which allowed for one free recoding....here's the text from the TSB:

Which dealer?

I ask this as they pulled the same crap on me at New Country (sans $$$) so I printed out the FAQ from AW and gave it to them. They were then quite please and did it no questions asked.

Find someone local with a VAG or VAG-COM

Audi (at least AoA) is pretty quickly moving from a customer centric to a corporate centric business as seen thru our interactions with AoA and lot of dealers.

Everything they do is aimed at reducing legal and financial obligations, and is disguised in veils of propaganda to make it sound like they know what is good for us.

Fairly predictable considering the level of sales success they have enjoyed. Seems nearly every company lets success go to their head.
