A Question about Ethanol

I just filled my gas tank up at the gas station I normally go to. I saw a sign I hadn't noticed before that stated 10% of their gas contains ethanol. I use the Super Unleaded with 93 octanes. Is this damaging to the engine? Should I look for a new gas station? When I used gas with ethanol in my 1984 5000s it made the engine behave strangely.

Up to 10% is probably OK

According to my 1999 owner's manual, the A4 can accept fuels containing up to 10% ethanol. Take a look at your owner's manual as it gives fairly good information about acceptable fuels.

Ditto the manual

My 2000 manual says up to 10% ethanol is OK, as is up to 3% methanol, though I've not found any gas with that. On some other cars, I've noticed a decrease in fuel economy and a bit rougher running when using gasohol. In any case, it won't HURT your car.
