Question on reprogramming the remotes to work windows....
I want to reprogram the remotes but don't have a VAG tool, i do know a mechanic at my Audi dealer that has the diagnostic computer. It is this big blue looking box, any way does anyone know if he should be able to reprogram the remotes with this. He hadn't heard of doing this but that didn't surprise me. He did say that it could change the language in my car though. So is the same type of thing as the VAG-tool or not. I need to know cause i am going today and will take the directions on how to do this if it is possible. TIA

Yes, that "blue box" is a real vag 1551 tool.
print and give him this:
Log into module 35 (Central locks) [address word 35]
find the current software coding (as stock this should be: 16140)
open the "recode" function and recode the 5 digit number to one you select from the tech article linked below.
Verify that the software code now matches the desired number.
Log out and verify with key that windows roll down (note because of signal oddities they may occasionally "stutter" and restart while using the remote.
