A question for those technical types...
00276 ABS Outlet Vavle LeftRear (N135) 10-35 intermittent
as far as I can remember...
I am almost positive that this is due to the brakes being drained but I'm not sure exactly what it means, so... I figured I would throw it by you guys. Do you think I need a new ABS Module, or can get away with activating the servos and re bleeding? Any help would be appreciated.
I haven't bled my A4, but have done my Porsche 993 multiple times (incl. when I had to remove both front calipers) which also has ABS. Didn't have to do anything special with the ABS system (no sensor/brain box actuation).
Now, as to why you installed the SS brake lines, that's something else. I did it on old '84 Porsche 911 - did nothing for brake feel. I have personally witnessed two cars that had brake line failures - both had SS lines. Have never heard of a problem on a stock rubber line.
Question - when the ABS/brake lights come on, does the brake pedal feel spongy? If so, better indication that the lines have air in them.
When I have to open a brake line, I prop the brake pedal to be partially applied. That blocks off the connection from the reservoir through the master cylinder and down to the calipers. It prevents you from totally draining the brake lines, and eases the bleeding process after completion of the repairs.
