questions on intakes

Get the cone, you will not regred it!
I got one (made by TAP) for my 97 12V and it sounds amazing.
Its nice and quite stock level when you drive normally, but when you punch it, the engine just roars. Under medium stress, the engine sounds like a V8 around 3000 rpm (no joke, my buddy has a 5.0 and he really liked the sound). Under heavy load, the engine sings a nice tune untill about 4700 rpm and then the sound becomes more intence almost like on vtec cars at the switch point, but deeper/bassier. I aboslutely love this intake.
There is a definate power increase and my G-Tech shows constant improvements of around .3 seconds, but the best thing about this intake is the sound.
We do not have to worry about hot, engine bay air, because our engine bays do not heat up as much as 1.8T does. I will test the intake temps as soon as I get the VAG tool (thanks Ed) and then if there is a difference, I will fabricate some sort of shield, which should not be that hard to do.
