Default Quick silly question?

OK, 98.5 A4 1.8T, Quattro...plain boring old normal (not sport) suspension... can I just add the Audi Sport springs and not replace the shocks? Is this a dumb idea? And then, if I had to get the whole suspension thing, what is best "bang for the buck" combo? Looking to acheive better handling, ride quality with min. amount of $ spent. TIA for any ideas/advice.

nope repalce the shocks as well, but go H&R and Bilstein for bang for buck comparison.

How do you define "bang"? All-out performance, some blend of perf. and comfort, ...?

Default Oops, my bad. How about this:

more perf than the stock suspension, but still some degree of comfort. I have the NYC streets to contend with...

IOW, not hard as rocks, but not air suspension either....

Intrax/Bilstein combo is your best bet. Eibach Pro-kit/Eurosport & Bilstein setup is a rough ride

Default Speaking from experience? Most who had Eibachs reported a softer ride than HR&Bilstein (m)

But two issues I've seen mentioned were durability and bottoming out (ProKits, not Eurosports).

Also, a lot of people are running Eurosports with stock sport dampers or Bilsteid HDs, which should be a much softer (but still controlled) ride than Bilstein sports.

That's what I heard, anyway. No personal experience with any of those setups.

Default I have eurosports and bilsteins. The ride is rather harsh. I've ridden in an Intrax/Bilstein setup..

it was dramatically better in terms of ride quality. Very smooth or "soft" as the terminology goes - and a decent drop as well.
