Radio display problems
I was wondering if any of you have experienced the same problem I have. Occasionally, when I turn the radio on, all of the characters seem to be frame-shifted over by a one or two frames. A few of the LED's that make up the letters and numbers seem to be missing also. Nothing is wrong with the actual play of the radio. What is funny is that the display above the trip computer is fine. The problem goes away after turing the car off and restarting, but is very annoying.
I am going to go to my dealer with this, but was wondering if anyone out there has experienced similar problems.

Re: Radio display problems (more)
I've had same display problem though unclear whether cold was cause. In addition I've had random cycling through radio alphanumeric display (this was not the signal strength hidden feature). Most recently (just before 12/25) all the radio button lights died (and stayed dead as of 1/27). Dealer ordered replacement radio under warranty which arrived only yesterday (none in stock in US - hard to believe) and will be installed next week.
Hard to know if my radio had a bunch of unrelated problems, or if these all had common cause. At least you've got 3 year warranty.
99 Avant 2.8 Tip Q

Re: Radio display problems
same prob here on my 99 1,8T, but I think it is do to the cold weather. it has only happened 3 times all when it was very cold outside. I remember having a similair problem on my old Alpine Cd player. I think it has something to do with the Liquid Crystals.
