radio security code
i bought a used 96 a4 2.8 and i know that the radio was replaced according to the seller but i have no idea how to retreive the radio code and i am about to do some major work and will have to init the radio.

On the top of the unit
Pull it out and it will be printed on the top of the stereo (if it is a stock radio)
Mine had been replaced (I bought the car used) so when I tried the code in the manual, it would not work and locked me out. I pulled the radio, and it was a four digit code mixed in with other numbers on a sticker on the top of the unit. Good luck.

Get the serial code of the radio and call the dealership with your VIN and they will be able to tell
you the unlocking code. They might charge you something like $15.00. Some have found the serial number of the radio on a sticker in the spare wheel well.
