Default it made it easier for me and didn't really lower it too much more...

It made it easier b/c I think it align it while I was cutting it. I had installed the new clutch and 2nd was a little rough, that went away. Who knows though, may be placebo. It wasn't a dramatic change though but the shifts feel shorter.

Default Was your V&S stock to start? I cut 1/2 inch but was thinking about doing more...

also did you have to cut the rubber isolator that sits below the shift **** under the boot?

Default

Did you re-thread the shaft? Or just cut it and screw the **** back on?

Default I didn't put the isolator back on, I used an old bump stop. It was stock height.

The bump stop I used was about the same dimension but I was able to slide it down further on the stalk pass were the stalk gets bigger so I was able to go pretty low. Only thing that kept me from going lower was the shift boot adapter ring and the way my shift **** locks down. Its a momo so its allen wrenches on and as that ring that screws on from the bottom.

Default I think I would have had enough thread for the stock shifter I had...

But I'm using a momo that doesn't thread down. I wanted to see how my stock one looked but my friend never gave it back b/c he like the alcantara look and feel. Its still in his glove box, he couldn't get his old one off his passat.
