That's probably bad too, but not related to the poor running. You really should find someone with VAG-COM to get a better read on the codes, but the MAF is probably the place to start testing.

When it runs rough and I unplug the MAF, nothing changes.

Ok, I replaced the MAF with exact part#. Nothing changed. I had my dad look at it with me. We checked all the plug wires, there was a small amount of oil in well 1, 2, and 3. Mostly 1. Wiped it all out thoroughly and cleaned the boots. Bank 2 was dry. Reassembled, still no improvement. The coil packs and plug wires are bran new. After wriggling every wire and plug under the hood, somehow there was a vast improvement in the frequency of the problem. It almost never does it randomly now, but around 5,000 rpm's, it will start running rough and continue running rough, only for 30seconds or so now. Before it would run like that up to and over ten minutes at a time. PLEASE........ WHAT AM I DEALING WITH HEEEERRRRREEEEE.............. So frustrated..........

I'd replace the bank one O2 sensor, clear the codes and see what happens.
