Recommendations on buffer machine?

Are these small handheld buffers sold at Walmart a good product? I'm looking for an inexpensive buffer to wax with.

i think the concensus will be Porter Cable. Get the right tool for the job once.

cheap stuff is just that, cheap. For power tools invest once. check the detailing forum for suggestions on which buffer/sander + accessories.

Lowe's and Griot's Garage are two places that comes to mind atm.

I'm sure you can find it online cheaper too.

don't waste your time on the cheap buffers at Sears or Walmart.

Go to the detailing forum and do some research. Coastaltool.com sells the Porter Cable 7424 for $120 and includes a free velcro backing plate. You can buy the PC 7336 (essentially identical tool) at Lowe's for varying prices, check your local store. I got mine for $99 a year ago. Expect to pay another $100 on top of that for backing plate, pads, polishes, good wax, microfiber, etc.

And yes, it's very much worth it.
