Redesigned A4?

I understand that the A4 has been revised for 199.5. But does anyone know when the car will receive a major rehaul to make it look more like the A6 (if thats the future for Audi)? The 99.5 means that there will be no 2000 A4?

99.5 is necessary to distinguish updated 99 from older version; I suspect there will be a 2000 little different from 1999.5

Redesigned A4 not before 2002 (my guess)

Just think: The S4 with the current body will be introduced this fall as a 2000 model. I doubt that Audi will change the A4 body style after only 1 year since its introduction. So that places the U.S. introduction of the new A4 at 2002 at the earliest. There is talk that the new car will be unveiled in Europe some time in 2000, probably for sale as a 2001 model. The U.S. model introduction would probably lag behind by 1 year. I am pretty confident that the new car will be a 2002 model.
