Default Remote reprogramming

I talked to the dealer today about reprogramming my control module to open windows and have one touch unlock of all the doors. I was told this would void the warranty on the windows and Audi doesnt endorse those settings. Anyone else had the dealer tell you this BS? I think that is ridiculous plus they charge you to do it.

Default One recoding is free...

<i>Re-coding of Central Locking Control Module is covered by warranty ONE TIME ONLY on each vehicle. Subsequent re-coding is not covered by warranty and may not be claimed as such.</i>

See the link below for more info. Warning, you'll have to have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader installed n your PC/Mac for the link to display correctly.<p>Andy Hedin

Default Total BS......

Sounds like your dealer is an idiot. We have 2 dealers in Central Florida; Orlando and Melbourne, and they both do the reprogramming for their customers. As a matter fact, there is a TSB that the dealers have (someone on this list can probably find out what TSP number it is) that instructs the dealers on how to do this, and that each Audi owner gets 1 free remote reprogramming durring the warranty period.

At our Florida chapter meeting 3 days ago, one of the dealer techs came out and actually did all programming for everyone in the club for free.<p>Christian J. Long

Default Re: Remote reprogramming

This should be a free service. I just reprogrammed my 00 A4tqms to auto lock/unlock and remote controlled windows with my vwtool. It takes 10 seconds to do and does not void the warranty. Go to a different dealer or find someone with vwtool to reprogram yours. You can find the code under the faq on audiworld in the electronics section.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll try the other dealer (there are only 2 in houston). I wonder what they'd say about my APR chip....

Default TSB says nothing about windows, TSB adds auto door lock.

Default Easiest way would be to locate a fellow Audi owner or tuner with a VAG tool...

Which part of the world are you located in? I'm sure someone on the forums can help you out.

Easier than trying to talk to unreasonable dealers, IMHO.

Good luck!<p>-eric
