Replace Headlights

Hey yall,
I've decided that the headlights on my 98 A4 2.8 are a little too weak. I want to replace them with Xenon bulbs. Can someone tell me where I should get them (preferably on the internet), what wattages i should get, and how much i can expect to pay. Also, should I replace just the lows or both the highs and lows?

You can't get xenon bulbs. HID lights do not use a filament, they use a pocket of gas that is ignited by an arc of electricity. You can buy a Xenon conversion from Europe. There was a group buy a while ago, I'm not sure if you can still get in on it. Look through the last few pages for info. It will require that you do some basic rewiring, and you will have to replace the whole headlight assembly.

Without replacing the entire headlight assembly, you can buy xenon bulbs and the ignitor ballast and have them installed. THis should cost around 600.00. HOwever, having done this, I wouldn't recommend it. THe problem being, the light dispersion pattern will be off. AFter spending the money on that and living with the results for a while, I finally order the european S4 xenon light assemblies. This was 1200.00 through lltek (I think they still have some left. Then there's the group buy the other guy spoke of. THey were getting theirs for about 900.00). I should have gone with the entire assembly in the first place, but didn't. So, I paid twice.

However, if you don't want to spend that kind of dough, I'll have some xenon converted headlight assemblies going REALLY cheap.
