The Return of the Boost!

Replaced my broken K03 (wastegate rod) on Saturday with a new (to me) K03. WOW! If you think going from stock to chipped is great, try going from 2 psi of boost to chipped

I had gotten so used to driving with no boost I need to be careful or this week is going to be full of speeding tickets...

Install was very straight-forward. I'd put it at about the same level of difficulty as a timing belt change, and I also had the added steps of changing the oil supply line and the gasket for the oil filter bracket. I'd expect that most anyone with a decent complement of tools (get some low-profile ratchets/sockets and stubby ratchets), a Bentley manual, and a day to spend could do it.

Thanks to Clair for getting my parts to me on time, and a big-*** middle finger to Bentley Publishers for their lame protection scheme. I did a fresh install of XP last week, tried to reinstall my manual on Friday evening and was denied. Even better, no one at software support works on weekends. So no manual for me this weekend. I may sell the damn CD and get the paper manual...

Anyone want a K03 with a broken wastegate?

How much boost do you get from the KO3?

I am selling my S4 and moving. (I know I know) I love the design of the car (2000 - 2001 vintage)so much but am not sure whether I really need another S4, I am considering getting 1.8T Q. as there will be snow where I am going. I am not really familiar with the car. Do you have an practical chipped specs on it. I have seen the numbers at GIAC etc., and they are simply numbers. I am interested in an actual owners perspective. When I drove a new one some time ago stock, I could not help notice the Turbo Lag as compared to the S4. Any comments would be appreciated.

Yes, and I don't think so...

I'll give it away for shipping costs, but there is no "official" way to fix the rod. I'm sure someone could rig it up, but considering a used K03 can be had for <$200 it is probably not worth it.
