Default RPM's

Ok...1999.5 2.8 V6....I recently had the intstrument cluster replaced because the backlight had gone dim....after the new cluster was installed, the RPM tack is now showing at least 1,000 rpms higher than it used to when driving....at 70 mph on a flat road its showing 4600.....any suggestsions? just a calibration issue? what should the rpms be doing at that speed?

Default 2nd. Just to clarify, clusters are interchangeable between 2.8 and 1.8 cars but need

to be soft-coded appropriately. Whoever swapped the cluster should have noted the coding on the old one and entered it into the new one.
