Rustproofing Audis???
Did anyone rustproof their A4s? I was told by the dealership that it is not necessary when I purchased the car. The standard 10 year warranty is only on rust perforation. Will there be surface rust problem even though the metal is treated?<p>The amount of snow (therefore road salt) this year got me worried...Thanks.<p>Raymond.<br>98.5 A4 2.8<br>

My old Coupe Quattro went 8 years and 132,000 miles in western PA without rustproofing. Body and components held up fine (still had original exhaust from rear muffler forward; would have had whole original exhaust if one of the muffler hangers hadn't broke).<p>Save your money; you don't need to rustproof modern Audis.

How about the bumpers? (more)
I've got a couple of wounds from parking on the street. Some are just black marks, others have cut through the paint. The next layer is black and I can't tell if it's plastic or metal.<p>Anyone know if I can let this go or need to seek out some painting?<p>These body color bumpers are the bane of my A4's existence! I just got my front bumber tagged lightly on a head-in parking space. I think the person must have been in drive instead of reverse! Small circles from his liscence plate holder. =(
