On a sadder note...
put air in my tires at lunch and the front left starts taking air like a bat out of hell, so im like what the hell. i get under the car and see that the inside of the rim is bent. i start kicking and swearing, like the kid in a christmas story. last time i let me dad drive my car...we swapped he has an 01 A4. it had to have been him. looks like ill put my winters on a couple weeks early and figure out what ill do.

No doubt, he just ran over a pothole.
Wheels don't often bend themselves.
You should mention to your dad that one of your wheels got bent, and you are thinking of putting in a claim with the city for it. And ask if he remembers going over large potholes, so you can take pictures of it.
He's your father -- he's not going to lie to you.
If the pothole was big enough to damage your rim, then I am sure he noticed it at the time.
Don't demand or even ask that he buy you a new rim. But he may feel guilty and buy you one if you approach the subject diplomatically.

I know exactly which pothole he ran over, its by his work and i think it...
could swallow a hummer(no pun intended). its huge and its hidden even more due to the fact that its a railroad crossing. i put the claim into the city of hoboken, we'll what actually comes of it. I won't ask him for a new wheel and I won't let him pay for it. hopefully the city comes through. I've been thinking about new wheels anyway, so this might give me a reason to do it, only time will tell.
