I just bought a 2000 Audi A4 with the Ecru (light beige) leatherette interior about 2 months ago and while I was cleaning the interior of car I noticed this stain on the lower back of the driver's seat. It appears as a band across the width of the seat at about the level of my waist line. I have used a variety of commercial cleaning solutions including Lexol and others without any help. I am not sure what leatherette is and what the best solutions are to clean it. Please help.<p>rad

Same thing on mine. I think it's my leather belt. I got a pair of seat vests (sheep skin that runs down only the center of the seat. They are great for reducing the stickiness of the leatherette in the heat. Now my "black" mark only shows on the outside bolster. I've tried all kinds of stuff to clean it and have not been able to. I'm going to either talk them into replacing it under warranty before I sell or take the hit on the seatcover.
