Perhaps you should try resetting it. Here's my understanding on how to do it:
Turn the key to the "on" position and let it sit for 3 minutes before starting it. This, from what I understand, re-calibrates the thottle and other things. If you have the hood up during this proceedure you'll here *things* happening.

Yup, after a few seconds you'll here a high-pitched whine from under the hood, and it can be traced to the DBW unit..... After the noise stops I think it is reset.
