serious engine problem? help please
I did not drive for day and a half. I left it outside of my garage. So it was really cold and all. Anyway I went out for driving and engine shaked really a lot and I could feel this huge vibration. As I was driving I felt more vibration.
I came home, poped the hood and heard the sound. Engine was cranky and as i turned off iginition i could hear big wind hauling or some sort near stock intake. What's wrong with this? (it is 96' a4 with 160,000miles)

well...
first off, check all vac lines and see if they need replacing (that might be why you heard wind noises?)
Also, check to make sure all your spark plugs are torqued to spec (tight). I've heard of them working themselves loose before and causing the engine to sound like a diesel (which is what I'm taking yours sounds like?). Also, how old are your spark cables?

Final stage
I had the same symptoms last year and found out the final stage was hosed. It still drove but was incredibly shakey and felt like it was running really hard. Either way, you really should take it in. If it is the final stage, warranty covers it.
