Shifter issues
Total noob here. Bought a 99.5 A4 about 3 weeks ago. I've always had nothing but Ford vehicles prior to this purchase. 7 mustangs and two F150s. Still have a 00 f150 with 260xxx that was my daily until this purchase. Found this one with 150xxx on Craigslist and scooped it for $1200 from a guy. Some minor issues that I'm tackling one at a time. No major ones. I've driven this since I bought it everyday. One shop I took it to local guy said he's pretty sure it has a short shift in it. But here's the issue. First is hard to get into 3 out of 10 times under normal driving. impossible to get into when started cold. Most times have to drop into second then slide up into first on a cold start. Second itself on a cold start is sometimes problematic. And reverse is same deal hard to get into when cold. usually once warm reverse and second are no problem. First at times still has it's issue. Any ideas gentlemen? Thanks for the help in advance.
