Shock and spring question

I have a non sport FWD 1.8T,,Is it OK to replace my present shocks with new OEM sport shocks without replacing the srpings too.

I am looking for just a litte firmer ride without spending too much.

I would save up and look for a used spring shock combo

Question.. Picked up Bilstein sport shocks that I ordered and they were not the adjustable ones, should I exchange them if possible or should I keep them, what are pros and cons anyways???
