Default Shocks and Struts

What exactly is the difference? How would one diagnose having bad shocks vs bad struts?

Also, if I have a bad control arm, would it save on labor costs to have it replaced at the same time as either the shocks or struts?

Thanks.

Default shocks are in the rear struts are in the front....

a bad shock or strut will cause the care to feel more like jello down the road. the stock /strut is designed to absorb the bounce affect on the springs. Allowing the tire to rebound up or down then come to a still movement once the bump has been passed. Yes if you need new control arms then replace them at the same time. cheaper labor.

Thanks for the quick reply. I definitely notice the front end bouncing so it's definitely the struts.

Do the shocks and struts generally go at the same or do the shocks last longer than the struts?
