Simple solution to estimating speedometer/odo change
Well slap this old dweeb in the head! While trying to figure out what new tires to buy, I wondered what the change in tire diam would do as far as speedometer error was concerned. Did the math (you know d*pi and all that for each size), then I see that Tirerack has a "revolutions per mile" column for each of their tire specs. So much easier to compute it from that! IE: 824 vs 830 is less than %1 change.
Anyone know how many revs per mile Audi calibrates their spedo/odos to for each stock wheel size?
