Slight problems

I have been running the X chip for some time now without a hitch. But now my car is acting up. Recently it won't start. I have to remove the X and put my stock back in. As soon as I do that, the car fires right up without a problem. And now when I am in 5th gear and floor it the RPM's go soaring but my car doesn't. It just sits as if I engaged the clutch. Again with the stock chip no problem. Any idea of what could be causing this? Is it just that my chip is F*cked? Thanks

Sounds like 2 problems.

Car won't start with chip - poorly soldered chip...send back to tuner to fix.
RPM's climb in 5th gear - slipping clutch (smell anything funny when this happens?)...get new clutch.

does the clutch get worse the longer you drive?

RKA is correct. The chip has no effect on the engagement of the clutch

I'm going to AWE.

The chip definetly needs work. It just seemed odd that the two problems came together in time. The clutch seems fine with the stock chip of course. It's just that once I'm cruising in 5th and try to give it gas around 3500RPM's it goes past 4000-5000 without any power. Looks like I may be in the market for a new clutch.
