Default Some brake problems.

recently i just got my car back from the shop, after replacing the back left caliper(which was spraying brake fluid) along with brakes and rotors.

But last night i realized out of nowhere that i didnt have any brake pressure, and we just got hit with a foot of snow, not a good combination.

The ABS didnt kick in, and the light is on. Could a bad ABS pump use more brake fluid if not working correctly(assuming there isnt a leak somewhere)?

also im getting some "pulling" on my wheels when getting up to speed, its similar to a jerking motion, but has nothing to do with my clutch or any other part of that system.. its like the brakes are locking up on me intermittently..

if anyone has had a problem like this, or knows what could be causing this,(if there is a leak, it means that it ruptured the master brake cylinder in my calipers again).

sorry this isnt so detailed at the moment, im writing this before i go to work. if i forgot anything, i'll make sure to post it.
any help is appreciated, thanks!

I've been researching a similar problem all day. Id suggest looking at abs control module failures and pump failure. There are places that rebuild your abs control module for $100, it's a $2k dealership item otherwise.

Your problem with no "brake pressure" sounds like you still have air in the system. You may also have a loose fitting, small leak somewhere else. How much fluid is in each side of the resevoir? I would think that the ABS unit not working would have nothing to do with brake pressure from a saftey point of view. The ABS should just be to keep your wheels from locking up not for pressure. If it is not working your brakes should still work the old fashion way.
I would also think that the ABS unit if malfunctioning would go into a limp mode and not work at all instead of randomly braking a wheel.I could be wrong on all the above so keep researching.

Redrummy, yea, i need a VAG-COM to check that system.. i know what ABS feels like, and i dont think its working right.. as long as the pump is still fine, the control module shouldnt be too much if i got it off of ebay. 60-80$ maybe if its used.

Gomer, my friend said the same thing to me today. its quite possible. if so, then its an easy fix.
And i have noticed my wheels locking up, but my pump looks intact, but without a VAG-COM(to check the ABS control module), its hard to tell if my module is bad, or something isnt working right.. idk. i have noticed a random "brakeing" feeling.. its hard to tell, but i think its only in the rear left area, so what you say does make alot of sense. could still be an allignment problem though too.

I guess the only reason i said something about brake pressure is the lines coming from the brake res. go into the top of the pump.. but im still a little ignorant in audi engines.(driving a cavellier and an escort for a while)

You could also have a bad caliper that is hanging up, but that locking up sensation would only happen after you used your brakes.

No, not a noticable shudder, but the brake locking up sensation only happens for a few seconds(like a lag), then it goes away, and i take off. im not sure the caliper is hanging up, i just had everything replaced(caliper, wheel spindle/hub, brakes and rotors) would an allignment give me that kind of problem?

i cant figure out why i can't edit a post, but: to rephrase part of that, the shudder happens when im not braking, but is more noticable going up a hill and trying to gain speed, and only happens once and a while, it never lasts for very long.
