spring ?
i want to lower my car an inch. I have the 97 a4 1.8t fwd non sport suspension. If i purhase springs can i use my setup now or do I need to get an all new setup as far as aftermarket coilover kit. plus is there a particular spring that you guys recommend TIA

usually, ppl will recomend H&R spring with bilsten shock for fwd A4..more..
Dont use the new spring with stock shock, it will shorten the life significantly. dDiferent design purpose i recall (linear vs.. something).
If you have the dough ($$$), then of course go coilover. Will be nice if u r in snowy climate :-)

Springs and shocks.
You'll want to get new lowering springs and sport shocks for the best combination. Aftermarket products are usually the way to go. With the FWD you have numerous options depending just how low you want to go. Everything from springs and shocks to the H&R Cupkit, to the Vogtland Sport kit, to Koni Coilovers.
