Starting problems
This one is kinda tricky -- no dealships in the area and I dont have access to VAGCOM yet. Help would be appreciated.
Whenever the car has been driven in the higher RPMs and then shut-down it is difficult to start the next time. Doesn't matter how long it sits. Eventually it fires but often I have to turn it over a few times, let it sit and then turn it over again. Normally this car just starts if you show it the key! Also there is the smell of raw gas on occassion but no leaks -- always after it was driven at those higher RPMs.
I posted earlier (see link) but no one had any ideas.

check around your injectors for leaks...
If your smelling gas...there's a leak. I have something similar going on. My car had problems turning over...it would start eventually. I was running rich too like WJM suggests. Try this...turn the key to on...don't start it though...and let the fuel pump fill the fuel rail/pressurize the gas system. and then try and start. if the car starts no problem then...you have the same prob I got...except I dont have a gas smell. It could be leaking slightly by an injector...hence the no pressure and the bad start up...but the eventual turn over.
