Steering Column U Joint....does it exist?
I think I've figured out the U joint between the steering column and steering rack is the source of my excessive play. The issue is ETKA doesn't list a part number for this....anyone ever buy one or rebuild? Attached is a etka screen shot for reference. Thanks much.

I might have one...
I bought one a few years back b/c my silver audi had a retaining washer clip break and caused the steering wheel to move in and out a lot. It was the wrong year, for an ealier model such as yours. I was lucky to find someone parting out and took the retaining washer off and send it. I know its the whole upper assembly but I don't remember if it had the joint. I can check it out and let you know tomorrow or after the weekend. I'll have to dig it out of my crawlspace.
