stereo problem :(
im trying to get the little bastard out. i have a non bose 01 HU and im trying to get it out to stick that blau adapter on it. i bought the tools needed from crutchfield, stuck them in the HU and couldent pull the sucker out. i was so pissed, i had 4 metal prongs sticking out of my HU and a cut up hand (those things can be sharp) i finally wiggled the tools out but im having no luck at getting the stereo out
any ideas/tips?

Those keys available mailorder don't cut it. You gotta get the thicker properly shaped ones from Audi parts or ask a good car stereo shop to pop it out for you. When you slide them in, the taper pulls the clip on the radio inward. With a little effort to clear the felt gasket around the face the radio will pull straight out. Put a towel on the console to keep from scratching it. Remember....Don't disconnect the power plug unless you have the radio code handy.

Go to Circuit City (or any other large electronic retailer that does installs)...
and pull up to the install bays and tell one of the installers that a sales guy inside told you that he may be able to help you out by popping out your stereo. This worked for me twice - guys were really cool about it. Took them about 15 seconds to pop the stereo and another 20 minutes checking out my car ;-)
