Stock & Performance Chip

Hello All, Im looking at trading my 98' Grand Prix GTP in on a 99 A4 1.8T and I have a chip question. What is the best way to get a new computer with the performance chip and still keep my stock computer? Should i just go out and buy a second computer to have the modifications done on? My main concern with having a totally stock computer is i want ZERO problem with the dealer and the warranty. Buying the second computer is somewhat costly but I will do what needs to be done in order to avoid problem. If anyone knows of and easier-cheaper solution let me know. Thanks, Bill

You can search for a used ECU at a junk yards, or purchase a new one from Clair..

zeroproblems--at theriskof rehash--won't they still knowthatthe computerwas reset?

i think that the VAG tool can tell them that the computer was reset. 1996 a4 2.8 my space bar is broken!!

and a reset computer means what?dealer: did you know your computer was reset?me: yeah the battery in the car died and i had to change it.I might be changing my mind on the 1.8t thought as i didnt realize the s4 was coming so soon. 20k down on a 40k car will leave me with reasonable payments and I dont have to worry about changing a thing
