Default Tail light conversion question

I am looking at swapping my '96 tail lights to the newer style as per the article in the tech section.

The pinch is, I have to put my tail lights back into the ('97) donor car. I presume that if I do the reverse wire swap, this will be no problemo.

I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this or whether I just need to try it myself.

Thanks

Default If I understand correctly...

the donor car is a 97? So, the lights on it were already upgraded to the new style, correct? I say that because the 97 OEM tails are exactly the same as the 96, having the amber turn signals at the top. Assuming...I get what you are saying and they were already upgraded on the 97... just putting 96 lights in a 97, the wiring would be the same as what you have on the 96 to get those to work. I think you are on the right track.

Default That's what I thought too..

The registration papers say that it is a 1997, and the car originated from Japan or Singapore (I can't remember).

It has one piece headlights:

And this style tailight:

The wiring on the left-hand side (note that this is the passenger side):

Well I'm sure when I get into I'll figure it out.. Maybe I'll consult the wiring diagrams.

Default I just noticed.. These tail lights aren't the same as the tech article

They're version 1 red's. Should I pay to get the 99.5+ version 2s or just take these for free?
