Tail light replacement

Are there any problems with putting 1998 tail lights into a 1996? I know there shouldn't be any fitment problems, but is the harness just plug and play or does something have to be done? Thanks.

Yeah i've seen that, but that is for the really new tail lights. The 1998 tail lights are different than those. Thanks though.

I am putting in the version in between the newest ones and the 1996 ones with the yellow turn signals. The 1998 A4's have different tail lights.
