Default TCU Recoding
I have read most all the threads I could find on recoding the TCU to enable "sport mode". The car is a 98.5 A4 2.8 Q. No luck with any recoding it defaults back to 00000 which is supposed to be Invalid.

The TCU Part # is 8D0 927 156 Q, is there a login code that must be used first?

I searched both here and the Vag-Com mailing list as well.

Default Was that for the dbw 2.8's. I think they were changing the codes to what comes
in the A6 2.8.

to enable sport mode, recode it as 0001X. for my 1.8 default: 00002, enabling sport mode is 00012

I tried 00012 00022 00032 none would take. Almost like I need to login first.

Yes it is a Tip. The TCU Part # is in the first post even.

I also tried this on a 2001 A4. I think its intended for the A6 tip

i used it on my 2001, and i think it made a difference. it downshifts earlier and less pedal mvmt
