Default there was a time...

when everything hadn't been done our cars, when people still where breaking new ground in modding them both engine- and apperance-wise...
A time when you could be blown away when someone presented a new innovative b5-based project.

Is there anyone out there still pushing the envelope and taking things a step further or are we all only repairing or aging cars?

I am in the process of hacking the CLP by doing a memory dump and changing it so on key removal, all the windows automatically roll up.

There is a guy here in CO who put a V8 in his 1.8 B5 - saw it yesterday - an amazing feat - oh it's a drive by wire V8 - had not been done before

Working on making a 01A transmission stronger and using one from an older Audi that has a 4.11 final drive which has better gearing for racing. All of this so I can aim for 700awhp out of a A4 1.8t block next year.

Go to my picture poster. Some are still pushing envelopes, but what use to post asking ?? here as you just get abuse and people wondering why you have put 100k$ into a 97 model car. I am rebuilding the engine right now but it has dynoed over 460whp twice, has been blown 3 times and will take your breath away. Also some old pics on http://www.northerneuropeanautomotive.com/ performance/projects and Rods car. A lot has been updated, and within a yr. I will be putting it back on an engine dyno with a known rally tuner with proven engines, not bull**** "tunerzzz" who blow engines. Will hook the Alky injectiuon up and adding a roll bar, after that just track time. Suspension has every good aftermarket and Audi piece made on it.

Told you abt. the RS2 tranny and rear a long time ago, with a Sachs Racing clutch it holds the Dahlback Golf and my car, just a little expensive, but bulletproof. Good luck on the O1A.

Worse shifting and expensive is just not an option. I drag race so double clutching and slow shifts are not exactly a good choice which is why I am trying to work with the 01A still.

The 01E shift linkage is a poor design and it soaks up more power which means less power at the wheel. If I did go with a 01E it would most likely be the one from a Allroad since it has a shorter 2nd gear then the 01E out of the S4. Plus the 01E seems to have too much issues with the 1-2 collar and the syncro's causing them to be replaced often when banging the gears all the time.

Huh, the JHM linkage and shifter made mine really fast and it never grinds, also good mounts as you know, mine is smooth as silk and fast as well, bang shift 1 to 2 is real fast. Altho you are right about the gears, but there are custom gearsets available.
