Time to move on?

Crappy cellphone pic of passenger side frame rail - I believe that rust is over a weld join:

I believe this is a result of accident repair done under the PO.

The car had a clean CarFax, but the inside of this framerail is laser red.

Move on, nah... Buy again, no way.

Live and learn, unless the car doesn't align correctly, etc. Take some time to remove the entire intake box and clean that area, maybe spray paint the exposed areas so the rusting is kept at bay.

Dang, man... It seems like you're looking for any reason to ditch the 1.8T. I think you have a good,

fairly clean platform and you've got the resources (well, will in the summer) to make it pretty respectable.

I mean... You're probably going to mod whatever you replace it with , and what you can get out of it probably won't quite compare to what you could have if you put all the money into your current car.

And besides, IMO, you're not going to find a car with a better interior under $30K. In which case, you may as well get an Evo VII.
