Tip Problem

My car recently developed this problem. In the mornings when I first start the car (cold start), the transmission would not upshift from first gear until couple of minutes later down the road. This does not happen at any other time of the day. Is this a common problem or should I bring it in? Thanks.

This is normal. The engine is warming up and won't let you upshift until you've sufficiently revved the engine.

Do you mean to say that you cannot upshift in "tip" mode ...

or just that when in "D" it will hold first? I just go into "tip" and manually upshift and everything works out fine.
