Transmission problem perhaps?

Transmission problem perhaps?

When going into second if i go slowly...and hold it at a certain point it will start to grind. I called uuc motorwerks and they said that it could be a tranny problem becuase a4 have many second gear problems...i am afraid to take it to the dealer seeing that the short shifter could void the warranty....do i just need to adjust the shifter or do i have serious tranny problems....thanks

1)short shifter doesn't void warranty, 2) drive in an alley and see if ..

there's strange sound other than engine noise (the echo makes it easier to hear)
if there is , is the noise isloated to gear or speed relative?

why are you holdign the 2nd gear to a certain point until it grind?
